We got up early this morning and harvested three Bourbon Red turkeys (two hens and a tom). They were not big enough to harvest last Thanksgiving so I thought I would give them a little more time. Before I knew it, a lot of time had passed! I let these go a little too long. I can tell by how difficult the tom was to pluck. (In my experience, turkeys are much easier to pluck than chickens. They do still require a scald, though.) I’m sure they will still taste great!
